Charles Powell Adams (born 3 March 1831 in Rainsburg Pennsylvania, and died November 2, 1893 in Vermillion in Minnesota) is a brigadier general in the Union, physician and politician. He is buried in Hastings, Minnesota. Charles Powell Adams was a doctor at the time and he was elected to the territorial chamber Hastings on October 14, 1856. Charles Powell Adams entered in the Union army during the early years of the American Civil War as a captain in the 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry. He was promoted to commander and October 22, 1861 Lieutenant Colonel 11 months later. He participated in the Battle of Gettysburg during which he was wounded by three cannonballs.
